We developed an estimate calculator for natural and engineered stone fabrication. It brings the logic of price lists and Excel calculations into one web interface, while letting the client update rates independently.
Stone fabrication estimate calculator
A web calculator for stone fabrication with part dimensions, workshop and installation operations, editable rates, PDF estimates and Excel exports.

Client task and starting point
Managers previously selected rates in spreadsheets and price lists, accounting for material, thickness, dimensions, processing operations and extra expenses. Moving data between files made estimates harder to prepare and introduced opportunities for mistakes.
The client needed one interface that would turn order parameters into calculations and documents, with rates editable without developer assistance.
What was implemented
The application calculates part area, perimeter, operation volumes and costs from material and thickness. It applies additional expenses, discounts and markups, then produces the estimate.
- Multiple batches and materials in one estimate, with material and thickness selection.
- Part dimensions and quantities, with automatic area, perimeter and straight-cut calculations.
- A searchable catalogue of workshop and installation operations: bonding, edges, openings, holes, surfaces, profiles, production and logistics.
- Stone cost, additional expenses, discounts and markups.
- Editable rate and price-list entries, with prices by material and thickness.
- Organisation details for document generation.
- PDF estimates and Excel calculation exports.
- Saved drafts, a mobile interface and an offline version.
How the solution works
- 01
Order parameters
The manager selects the organisation, material and thickness, then enters part names, dimensions and quantities.
- 02
Operations and expenses
The system calculates part geometry. The manager selects workshop and installation operations, stone cost and additional expenses.
- 03
Estimate and documents
Rates and operation volumes produce the order total with discounts or markups. The estimate is available in PDF and the calculation in Excel.
- 04
Current rates
The client edits prices in the interface. New calculations use the updated rates, while the offline version supports local work.
Technical logic and integrations
The calculation links dimensions, material and thickness to the applicable rates and operation volumes.
The original price-list logic was transferred from Excel. Data can be imported, calculations exported to Excel and estimates generated as PDF.
Local storage supports offline work and saved drafts.
Business value
Completed in September 2026, the project gives managers one interface for part geometry, operation costs and the final estimate.
Searching large price lists, transferring results between files and adding up line items manually are replaced by a unified calculation.
Rates are updated in the interface, and the offline version supports work without a continuous internet connection.
